| Position Responsibilities: | |

The OGN Senior Storage Engineer will be technically responsible for the overall health and execution of storage services within the Northeast Regional Service Center. Storage services includes the management and administration of all enterprise storage infrastructure (network or storage attached), and all associated COOP/DR storage and the corresponding replication infrastructure. |
| Position Duties: | |
|
The OGN Senior Storage Engineer will serve as the technical lead with respect to the storage services within the North East Regional Service Center; directed by the Storage Team Lead, OGN4 Branch Chief, and other members in the OG Management chain. As a technical lead, the Senior Storage Engineer will work as a peer to other infrastructure and application service technical leads, ensuring coexistence and cooperation with other components of the DODIIS service catalog. |
| Job Requirements/Qualifications/Position Requirements: | |
|
Candidate must possess at least 2 years of experience operating or designing storage solutions for an enterprise computing environment similar to DODIIS. Candidate must possess at least eight (8) years of hands-on technical experience; preferably with exposure to both storage and server functions. |
|
Certification with a major storage vendor’s systems — such as NetApp, EMC, HP, Fujitsu or equivalent is required. Experience with market-leading add-on software and hardware solutions is required, such as: backup solutions, archiving solutions, storage management solutions, and storage appliances. |

Microsoft Server — SMART is a complex messaging system of integrated subcomponents which are primarily Microsoft based. There are 32 and 64-bit operating system underneath MS applications such as SQL, MOSS, BizTalk and IIS so a strong foundation in recent and current MS operating systems is essential. Familiarity with building from bare metal, configuring and maintaining servers is required. A working knowledge of Active Directory management. |

Microsoft Client — SMART has a desktop client component so a strong working knowledge of recent and current desktop operating systems is essential. |
|
Fundamental Networking — Cabling, running and tipping CAT 5. Switches, connecting switches, basic switch management, identifying and resolving connectivity issues. |
|
Client Imaging — Practical familiarity with imaging software. |
|
Virtual Machine Technology — Practical knowledge of VMWare and Microsoft's Hyper-V. |
